Today saw the release of Black Dahlia, Markus Guentner's third album on Affin.
Guentner, who has been part of the organically growing label since our first release (2008), has undergone a remarkable development.
While Crystal Castle (2011) and Onda (2023) were strongly characterized by layers of harmonic surfaces, Black Dahlia has crystallized a completely new basic direction for Guentner's music. The focus of this work is on field recordings that create a cinematic character, while at the same time harmonic fragments are staged more subtly.
With Black Dahlia, we are proud to make a difference not only in terms of auditory novelties but also visually and haptically.

Apart from the conception and production of the album, Markus Guentner also created the cover, the packaging and all the visualizers for each track of the Black Dahlia album. Here is an example (which was premiered this week at Headphone Commute)!
You can find all clips of the album in our Bandcamp store and the videos will also be released on our Youtube channel.
Furthermore, here is an insight into the visual design of Markus Guentner, who has been refining all content and formats published on Affin with his creative signature for several years.
